Eye problems: Exophoria does not cause nystagmus. There is no connection. Exophoria means the eye muscles are not well controlled and you may see double when you are tired. Other than that, there is no need to worry and it is not harmful. Nystagmus means the eye muscle jerk as you move in one direction. The brain will not process the jerks so you dont have symptoms. No treatment needed. no worry either.

No to exo as cause: Exophoria in some circumstances can actually improve a nystagmus. I am unaware of any literature that supports the notion that an exophoria causes acquired nystagmus to develop in an individual.
