A member asked:

Is lupus less life threatening at the age of 60?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: SLE (systemic lupus Erythematosis) starting at age 60 is usually milder than starting at age 25. This is based on an average disease severity. There have always been younger patients with mild disease and older patients with severe disease. Most of the time even severe life threatening parts of SLE can be controlled. Talk with your rheumatologist about your symptoms and your risk. Good luck
