Throat dry: Cold air is usually dry. Many people when they have a cold take medication that drys out the mucous membrane of the throat/pharynx. This can cause dryness in the posterior pharynx. If there are problems with swallowing saliva or it gets worse see your doctor immediately. Otherwise gargling will help, and decreased use of antihistamine medication
