Ocular irritation: Likely causes of twitching of the eyelid (eyelid myokymia )are related to ocular surface irritation, whether its from dry eyes, eyelid inflammation, allergies, dust, wind, medications, too much caffeine, or stress. First trial artificial tears 4-6 times per day. Warm compresses and lid massages may also help. See an eye md if these don't help.

U may have myokymia: If the eyelid skin is twitching on/off it ia a benign condition called myokymia often brought on by fatigue, or lack of sleep. If it's twitching more strongly where you can't even open your eyes, you need to see your eye doctor and have this evaluated further. If it's the lighter version, it should go away in a couple days or sooner. Get some rest!
