I prefer gels: to reduce ingrown hairs, and try to shave with fewer blades. Also shaving in direction of hair growth works better for less ingrowns.

Razor Burn: Use pre shaving oil. All it takes is a couple drops (compare prices) underneath your shaving gel or cream to create a barrier on the skin so the razor glides instead of drags. It also helps prevent ingrown pubic hair too!

Prevention first: The best cream is to prevent it from happening in the first place with a shaving cream or oil. If however, you did develop the irritative rash, using some mild over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream will aid in healing. Use very lightly but rub in well to affected area 3-4 times daily for a couple of days until clear.
