Here are some ...: Before taking antibiotics, a detailed general / urinary history and urinalysis are minimally required for suspecting UTI if you have not had recurrent UTI. But, if you know when a UTI is coming by history after prior evaluation, both nitofurantoin & sulf/trimethorpim remain the most practical yet effective drugs for everyday UTI without antibiotics overuse / abuse.
