Can have dysphagia: Dysphagia occurs in 5-15% of patients with Chiari 1 although only a few reports describe dysphagia as the only presenting symptom. Esophageal dysmotility and gastroesophageal reflux appear components. Some times corrected with surgery for Chiari. Some patients without dysphagia can develop neurogenic dysphagia following craniotomy
