Getting pregnant: Ovulation occurs approximately 14 days before your period, in a typical 28-day cycle. If you do not have intercourse around the time you ovulate, then you cannot get pregnant. I see that you are 17 years of age - Be sure that this is the right time for you. It's not something to rush in lightly. Best wishes.

Healthy living, relax: 17 is very young to handle the stressors of pregnancy and raising a baby. My advice is to delay pregnancy until you have a strong marriage and 6 months savings in the bank. But if you are sure you want to become pregnant, have sexual intercourse (on the bottom) once every 24-48 hours during the middle of your cycle (more often actually decreases sperm). Also no smoking and healthy weight.

At age 17?: Age 17 seems pretty young to be "trying" to get pregnant for a while. If you are overweight, getting into shape can help with fertility, especially if you can get to a normal body mass index. Maybe your body/mind/spirit (the whole unit) just isn't quite ready yet - you have a lot of life and years ahead of you to start a family!
