Yes. It Shouldn't.: We are all human and on occasion do make mistakes. It's what we do after them that defines us. Physicians have gone through extensive training to try to best eliminate mistakes as well as have discussions when they do occur to rectify the problem. Extreme examples include amputation of wrong limb. Most, however, are clerical in nature.

Mistakes: Doctors are imperfect people in an imperfect world, like everyone else! It is the human condition, anyone is capable of a mistake. However, doctors are highly trained in their fields, and there are usually processes in place to catch some errors before they happen, for example a "time out" prior to a procedure to review what is going to occur. To the extant possible, mistakes are minimized.
