A member asked:

Are roasted almonds carcinogenic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't Roast: Almonds & other nuts, when roasted, are usually roasted in oil. Most often these oils are high in a fatty acid called linoleic acid (LA). LA favors inflammation. In a patient with cancer LA helps the cancer grow. LA is metabolized to omega-6 fatty acids which are far too high in the American public. Acrylamide and asparinine in roasted nuts is of concern re cancer production. Go raw.
