Renal infections: Hi Annie. There are many antibiotics that are available to treat genito-urinary infections (kidney infections). The antibiotic is generally selected based on the bacteria that may have been seen on the urine culture, the susceptibilities of the antibiotic to the bacteria and how much of the selected antibiotic is effectively delivered to the kidney and urine.
