A member asked:

Mri showed branch of artery prolapsing into left ear canal with minimal effect on 7th & 8th cranial nerves .can this cause fluid in ear?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: Prolapse of an artery into the middle ear is, by itself, unlikely to cause fluid accumulation. Inner ear fluid is most often related to infection or inflammation.
