Well...: Claritin (loratadine) is an anthistamine.... If you have allergies it might help. But is you have a sinus infection decongestants and another course with a different antibiotic is in order.

Acute or chronic?: How long have you been having your symptoms? Usually oral steroids can help with the acute phase of sinus infections or use of nasal steroids may take a week to show improvement. Try the Claritin. If no relief, a second round of abx is in order. Should notice improvement by day 3. If not better after 2 weeks have doc get CT scan to verify diagnosis and ENT referral if persistent.
