Can a baby be determined to have diseases while still in the womb?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes: Some conditions may be diagnosed or suspected based on prenatal genetic testing or ultrasounds. One example is down syndrome, which is a chromosomal disorder that can be diagnosed by amniocentesis. However, many disorders cannot be detected until birth or afterwards as the baby grows and develops.
