Depends on symptoms: Claritin will help the sneezing, itching, and wateriness that comes from allergies. However, it will not help nasal congestion, and will not resolve wheezing. If she is coughing or wheezing, she will need an inhaler, usually a steroid inhaler and albuterol. IF she has nasal congestion, a nasal steroid can be used, or you can try over-the-counter cromolyn sodium nasal spray, which is very safe.
