Appendicitis?: Any child with persistent significant abdominal pain lasting more than 2 hours without relief needs to be evaluated by an MD promptly. Appendicitis can start with pain at the site of the umbilicus. The pain usually moves towards the right lower quadrant after several hours. Mesenteric lymphadenitis, swollen lymph nodes of abdomen can imitate appendicitis. See MD now.
