Curve significance: Scoliosis means usually S curvature of spine mostly idiopathic occurring predominantly in adolescent females. Significant scoliosis depends on number of degrees usually greater than 30 deg. and rapidity of progression. Growth spurts in adolescents usually cause further progression. Growth stopping usually scoliosis does not progress further. Some patients require operations for arrest and cosmesis
