Depends on patient: Standard dose of tramadol is 1-2 pills 4 times a day as needed. Don't take it if it wasn't prescribed to you. It shouldn't be taken by those on most antidepressants. Some people are more sensitive to tramadol than others. Kidney stone pain usually responds better to high dose antiinflammatories like ibuprofen 800mg. Don't self-diagnose. Lots of people think they have kidney pain when it's not.

You can take: Safely up to 300 mg of tramadol a day, like 10mg 3 times a day or 50 mg every 4 hours. Hope it helps. You can take Tylenol (acetaminophen) with it or ibuprofen if allowed by your urologist.
