A member asked:

Are my elevated liver enzymes (790.5) (r74.8) high and can they get back to normal if i abstain from alcohol and ibuprofen?

LFTs may go back: to normal if you abstain from alcohol and ibuprophen if that is indeed what triggered the rise. If you have been consuming alcohol constantly/ daily basis and ibuprophen in between then yes you can attribute to that. But if you haven' t done that, than you have the rule out the other common conditions that may lead to elevated liver enzymes - chronic hep B or C.

Yes: They will return to normal. However if already have cirrhosis that will persist but abstaining ETOH and other hepatoxins will improve symptoms and delay progression
