A member asked:

Is the pain of pancreatitis constant, or is the pain only present shortly after eating?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Constant: The pain during an exacerbation will be constant. Most patients need IV fluids and a break from eating or drinking to give the pancreas a rest. Also depends if you have chronic pancreatitis from repeated events which could cause a more chronic pain or acute pancreatitis which the pain should subside after getting treatment.
