Bite Reaction?: Perhaps it is just trauma, but if it continues to get worse after ice and elevation for 48 hours, I would consider going to urgent care. Typically infections will have warmth, but insect or spider bites can lead to swelling. Also taking an antihistamine like Zyrtec (cetirizine) can help.
