Depends: Survival following bypass surgery is strongly influenced by the state of the heart before the surgery such as previous damage from previous heart attacks and the extent of such damage .Also the presence of other conditions such as diabetes, or kidney dysfunction. Although survival under this conditions do not approach normalcy,the outcome is certainly much better than without surgery
