Toxins: Formally, toxins are specifically biologically produced poisonous substances (created within organisms or living cells). Thus, there are a broad range of chemicals that are covered by this term. However, some people expand the definition to include synthetic, environmental poisons as well. These would probably be better described as poisons or toxicants though.
