Well...: Albuterol, when used as inhaler, always leaves some residual in the back of your throat and this can be an irritant in some rare cases. Albuterol inhaler was not designed to be used but on occasion as a rescue medication for asthma or chronic lung disease.

Asthma: It sounds like your asthma is undermanaged. There are a tremendous number of maintenance regimens that minimize dependence on daily albuterol inhalers. Any primary care clinic can discuss various options with you for an alternative medication or inhaler, with short-acting albuterol as a backup and not your maintenance.
