May be seeking: Child may be seeking its own pattern. If feeding well, wetting diapers appropriately and growing fine. Then remember all babies sleep slightly differently.

Could be hungry: A 5 wks old baby usually sleeps about 2-3 hrs after feedings. If he is not getting enough milk, he might sleep much shorter periods, and probably be cranky. A 5 wks old (about 10 pounds ) feeds 5 oz every 3-4 hrs. A baby that has had enough may turn away from the bottle and should seem relaxed and contented. If your baby drains the whole bottle and is unsettled, try giving one more ounce (30ml).
