Nearly: PEG is propylene glycol. The 8 is the number of ethylene glycol units attached. It is used in a variety of products including toothpaste. If you are allergic to propylene glycol stop using PEG 8 products.

PEG-8: PEG-8 is Polyethylene Glycol, a variant of Propylene glycol. If you a re allergic to one, avoid both.
