Could be: allergy, contact dermatitis, bug bites. Try a cool compress to the area after washing the area with soap and water, and take an over the counter antihistamine.

Allergic reaction: you might have got some insect bite which is causing allergic reaction as swelling and you may get rash also.taking benadryl (diphenhydramine) may give you relief from allergy
