Cough: A cough is one of the most ambiguous symptoms that can be when one is ill, not ill, or just in between. Leukemia is not even on the first 100 possible causes of cough, it is that rare. That means there are at least 100 more common reasons for a person to have a cough.

Incorrect assumption: Cough is not an early symptom of leukemia. Patients with leukemia are often susceptible to infections and infection may affect the throat and lungs and lead to cough.
