I think appropriate: approach would be to give clear details about the level, quality & location of pain. Explain how medications to date have worked - side effects, how well pain was reduced & for how long. There is a lot of pressure now a days for doctors not to over-prescribe narcotics. Thus, you doctor may wish to ensure that non-narcotic avenues have been pursued prior to moving toward narcotics. See you have >
