A member asked:

What is intervertebral disc syndrome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IDS: As you age the vertebral discs shrink a bit. The center is a jelly like material and its surrounded by a tough 'sack' of tissue. The jelly center can rupture , sometimes with trauma, and the contents can press on nerve roots. O, the shrinking alone can cause pressure on nerve roots. An MRI can generally tell you whats going on. Sounds like you could have all the above.
