Overeating: Victoza (liraglutide) is an excellent GLP-1 receptor agonist which slows stomach emptying, causes the pancreas to secrete insulin and limits one's appetite. Most common side effect is mild nausea which usually stops within 4 weeks. If one eats past the point of feeling full one may get nauseated

How long?: One of the ways Victoza (liraglutide) works is to slow gastric emptying of food. The higher the dose, the worse your symptoms may be but the better diabetic control. Talk to your physician about lowering the dose for a while if symptoms are not manageable. Most docs start at .6 and work up to 1.2 and 1.8 but less amounts can help too especially weight loss in type 2. Other Meds and diet can worsen problem.
