Nucleic acid testing: Pcr allows enormous expansion of a chosen, limited segment of dna and facilitate testing of nucelic acid abnormalties. Pcr by itself is not a test. The specificity of the test is detemined by the composition of the probes used to analyse the nucelic acids.
