A member asked:

Is it safe to fly at 5 to 6 months pregnant? we are planning a average flight of 5 hours with stops in between.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, but...: Yes it is safe to fly on a commercial airline. However, in pregnancy, your clotting factors are increased, so you are at a higher risk of developing a blood clot if you sit still too long. You need to up and out of your seat every 1-2 hours ( I suggest an aisle seat). Since it is also important you stay hydrated, drink lots of water. That's going to make you go to the bathroom. Problem solved!
