Are there any known environmental causes of meniere's disease?

No: Although, there is at times an increase or exacerbation in symptoms in patients with allergies. Antihistamines can reduce the symptoms of both meniere's and allergy.

It is possible: There is some good evidence that meniere's disease and allergies are related. Up to a 1/3 of meniere's disease patients will test positive on skin testing for inhalant allergies. It is possible that treating allergies will also help treat the symptoms of meniere's disease. Several of my patients can tolerate their meniere's disease by treating their allergies with medicine or avoidance therapy.
