They won't tell: Hi, If you are 18 years of age, you are an adult and by law your medical record is confidential . Just in case, tell the gynecologist your wishes. A side note, if you can, talk to your mom, I'll bet she is more understanding than you think.

They won't find out: Ob/Gyns are sensitive to these topics. If your Ob doesn't ask your mother to leave during the interview part of the visit, you can certainly ask her to leave during the examination part. At that point, you can talk to your doctor about your sexual activity. You should also consider getting an STD screen.

No. Confidential.: If you are no longer a minor, all of your information is confidential. They cannot tell your parents anything unless you consent to it. However, if your parent is with you in the exam room, they might overhear this information. So ask for them to wait in the waiting room.
