Maybe: You already kind of answered your question. Calling them freakishly long suggests that they're not normal. Normal is subjective. In medicine we consider pain the criteria as a basis for whether things are normal or not, however often things like long toes can present with issues later (such as corns, calluses or in the worst case, arthritis of the joints). So basically it's all subjective.
