A member asked:

Is olmesartan associated with water retention ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Olmesartan and edema: Olmesartan (O) is not associated with fluid accumulation, or edema (E). You are also taking amlodipine, which can also cause E. If you are not yet on 40 mg of O daily, ask your doctor to put you on that dose. Ask if you can stop alodipine and start a diuretic, if you still have E. As the E disappears, your BP may improve. Good luck.
