Yes: The soreness you are feeling is likely some muscular strain. You used muscles that haven't been used that way in a while. While a bit painful now, continued activity despite this will tone them back up. In the interim, ice after exercise, massage and stretching. If really uncomfortable, NSAID's such as Ibuprofen or naproxyn over-the-counter will be helpful.
