Get an ultrasound: Severe pain lasting more than a few seconds, or recurring repeatedly should always be further investigated by a physician. These might be something benign, like gas pains, but could also represent something more serious like symptomatic gallstones or an ulcer. I would probably start with labs and an ultrasound of the gallbladder, since there is no radiation to the patient with this painless test

AND. bloating--chronic, not associated with serious problems, not progressive--really common, about 1 in 5. Increased fiber generally helpful. Worsening pain/vomiting/any sudden change can indicate serious illness
