A member asked:

Can i be put to sleep for a c section? last time i had one it was an emergency and it hurt a lot with lots of pressure .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Anesthesia: It is usually better to get a good spinal for the C-section and actually they can put in Duramorph (morphine) in the spinal to give 18-24 hours of pain relief. You can get a general, but your baby will go to sleep as you do. Theses babies require more vigorous resuscitation after birth then spinal anesthesia c sections. Don't forget too that they can give you a light general or sedation after the baby too
