Heart failure? : Do you have heart failure? There are several reasons for Pleural effusion. Depending upon how large you might need thoracocentesis or fluid drained and analyzed. If cough fever this could be infected or empyema thus requiring chest tube drainage. However it is usually only on one side. In summary if this is a new Pleural effusion the cause must be worked up.
