Common: Genital warts are very common and are caused by HPV. Most people will come in contact with some form of HPV in their lives (not always with the strain that causes warts, however). Removing might be permanent for you, or they can come back. He can't 'give' HPV back to you, as once you come in contact your body doesn't get re-infected with same strain. Different strain, yes, but not same one.
