Side effects: Damage no. But cause pain yes. If you hurt you may need to lower the dose or stop the medications.

Myalgias and pains: Discomfort is common, damage not likely. Get routine checks and liver function tests. If bad pains, try changing to a different class of lipid lowering agent.
