Could be better: The A1c goal for diabetics is below 7, or as low as possible while avoiding hypoglycemia. If not already done, stick to a low glycemic diet, exercise 4-6 days a week, and maintain a healthy weight. If no improvement in A1c, you may need to work with your doctor to increase your metformin dose or add another medication.
