Planning Delivery: Planning for spina bifida, includes the after care.Unless this is sb occulta, where skin covers the defect, uncovered elements require an upper level nursery for proper infection control & treatment.A fluid blockage in the brain is common, so surgery to close the defect & shunt the fluid are often required.Delivery at or transfer to, a center specializing in such care can improve outcome.
