R side of uvula: Assuming you mean the right side of the uvula (which we all heave 1 of hanging in the back of our throats), then a mass/lump for over 3 months with 6 months of associated swelling and inflammation needs to be evaluated and treated to assure it is not something serious. Good luck.

Viral or bacterial?: This could be a viral infection as it can present with redness, swelling, pain and white patches. Strep throat is another cause but it often has a higher fever and more clinical/body symptoms where the viral is usually more local symptoms. Viral is self limiting but strep can have long term side effects with non-treatment, best to have it checked out by local doc or walk-in clinic.

A member asked:
What happens when your uvula gets stabbed by a fork?

Pain!: Uvula is the punching bag hanging at the rear of the mouth. I'm worried why your fork would be that far back. Regardless, it would be an excellent idea to get evaluated looking for other collateral damage, even if you're feeling ok for now. You don't want to develop a raging infection or bleed out later on.

Uvula Bump: Ask your dentist or physician to check it... If there is any doubt an ENT specialist would be able to diagnose and treat you.
