Chalazion: A circumscribed usually non tender swelling in the upper eyelid is Chalazion. It is a cyst that usually reduces in size over time though may not completely disappear. If symptomatic, an ophthalmologist can remove it under local anesthesia. More diffuse and painful swelling needs examination by your family physician.
