Is all cancer genetically passed down?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Misconception: All cancer results from accumulated genetic mutations, but these happen in your body after you're conceived. Occasionally, you may inherit the first mutation from a parent, but the vast majority of cancers are sporadic and probably unrelated to inheritance of any major cancer genes. Anybody can get cancer and you'll do well to minimize your risk and maintain surveillance.
