Read more: I agree that it is unlikely that dong quai can cause breast cancer, but term studies in humans have not been done. It has some effect on estrogen, but it is not clear what that is. It also may increase your bleeding risk and contains an oil that is known to be carcinogenic. There are many different preparations and doses, so it can be difficult to know if you will experience any side effects.
