See Your Doctor: Your 12 yr old has "fever, stuffy nose, minor sore throat pain". Your child has symptoms consistent with an upper respiratory infection which is frequently caused by viruses. You inquired about giving "zpack" which is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Viral infections are self-limited & not treated as such. Your son should see his doctor for the correct diagnosis and treatment.
